Recent Examples
Here are some recent examples of takedown demands we received that did not result in the removal of content:
Malaysia
- The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (“MCMC”) demanded that we remove allegedly defamatory and harassing content targeting the President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia.
- We received a separate takedown demand from the MCMC in relation to content critical of the Malaysian Government’s principal tax collection agency.
Russia
- We continue to receive numerous takedown demands from the Russian Government concerning critical commentary on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, including their treatment of soldiers, and political criticism of the government and its leadership more generally.
