Here are a few recent examples of takedown demands that we received:
Azerbaijan
- The director of the Cyber Security Center under the Ministry of Communication and High Technologies of the
Republic of Azerbaijan wanted a site blocked for “having abusive and inappropriate content contrary to the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
Germany
- Law enforcement requested removal of a blog post for including “confidential and official information” without permission from the appropriate authorities.
India
- Law enforcement requested deletion of a site for posting allegedly false allegations about someone, “with ulterior intention of spoil of his reputation in society.”
- Law enforcement requested removal of content because it included “derogatory comments” about someone.
- The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India requested removal of a site for posting objectionable comments about a judge.
Russia
- We received 294 orders from the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications (Roskomnadzor).
Taiwan
- Law enforcement requested that we remove several sites for containing allegedly defamatory material.
Turkey
- The Turkish government demanded removal of posts and/or sites that criticized the Turkish army, Turkish government, and/or Turkish officials.
